HAJJ 2022: Saudi Gives 43,000 Quota To Nigeria

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allocated no fewer than 43,000 seats to Nigeria for 2022 Hajj.

Platforms Africa reports that this is 47,000 short of the 90,000 quota the kingdom gave to Nigeria before COVID-19 pandemic.

Confirming the new quota, the Executive Secretary, Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Muhammad Abba Dambatta, said at a press briefing in Kano on Wednesday, that this is a respite to two year border closure by Saudi Arabia for COVID-19, which prevented Nigerians from performing the religious right.

According to Dambatta, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON informed him on Tuesday, although, the Apex hajj regulatory body NAHCON is yet to confirm the development.
